It is surprising how we get caught up in the spirit of this world and not that of the other. This time of year is supposed to be centered on Jesus and His work of redemption. Instead we get caught up with JCPenney and redeemable sales slips. Not that we deny the celebration of our Lord, but somehow, at times we find ourselves swimming with the current, albeit unwittingly.
